Anthemis nobilis or Roman Chamomile is a perennial evergreen herb that is popular for use in home remedies, herbal teas and essential oils. Native to Europe, the plant is renowned for its medicinal qualities which can be used to treat the digestive system, colds, coughs, cuts and as a natural sedative.

Growth
Roman Chamomile reaches an average height of 30 cm’s, can grow in poor soils and is drought hardy once established. In winter the plant goes dormant but recovers quickly in early spring. Young seedlings can tolerate light frosts so seeds can be started as early as mid-winter. Roman Chamomile can be grown along the edges of a garden bed, as a ground cover and also be grown well in pots.
Roman Chamomile prefers cold or temperate climates but can also be grown in tropical regions in a shaded location.
