Growth
Ptilotus exaltatus is a short-lived perennial or annual herbaceous native that grows to a height of around 1.2 metres (4 feet) but can reach 1.5 metres (5 feet). Pink Mulla Mulla is a fast-growing flower that requires very little watering. It is recommended to only water lightly and only when the soil has completely dried out.
One of the main features is that they flower during Winter, from Autumn through to Spring. The flowers are generally pink or purple with conical heads up to 10cm (4 inches) high. Leaves are leathery green, almost blue in colour and cover the stem until flowers begin to emerge.
In ideal conditions, flowering can occur in around 150 days from sowing.
