Cabbage Sugarloaf ( Brassica oleracea ) is an heirloom cabbage variety that dates back as far as 1655! It has an excellent mild flavour, that is sweeter than some other cabbage types; and grows quite large. This variety is fantastic to cook with and great raw in salads and coleslaw.
The Sugarloaf Cabbage, like all cabbages are very nutritious and have many health benefits; they are a good source of folate, calcium, iron, and vitamin C, just to name a few. They also have health benefits for the heart, digestion, immunity and as a cancer fighting food!

Growth
This variety grows up to around 30 cm’s tall, 20 cm’s wide in a conical shape and can weigh in at up to 1.5 kilograms. It is suitable for any climate if sown at the right time of year and is ready for harvest from seed between 70-85 days depending on conditions. Harvest once the heads are firm. Cabbage can be grown in containers / pots.
